A Resource for Lent

For those seeking models or support to practice the Message, we offer a Lenten resource for daily prayer called,

The “Take-Home” Prayer

Dear God, I praise you and thank you for giving me the gift of your love, presence and life in this day. I confess that I would rather not live in the tension that this Way of Jesus can bring. I hear that love is crucified, that good deeds are not always rewarded.  Help me to see myself and the world today as you see – to be free of my fear and to know myself as belonging to you and loved by you.  Help me to see the ways you are calling and leading me to be your gift to others, and to choose this path despite the inherent risks.  Help me walk with Jesus, to approach life today not in my way or someone else’s way, but in your power that is greater than the risks.  I turn to you now, choosing to die to life without you, seeking to receive your presence and life within me, and to know more fully your Way for me today [spend at least 10-15 minutes in silence, seeking to be in God’s presence and to receive whatever God has for you].  Thank you that you bring healing out of hurt, strength out of tension, life out of death! In Jesus’ name, Amen.
