Welcome to the archived Season 1 Youth Sunday School Lessons page. The teaching philosophy behind this set of lessons is what I called the “popcorn approach.” The idea was that a student could “pop in” one week and the lesson would stand on its own without needed knowledge from previous classes.

From a teaching perspective, the popcorn method left a lot to be desired. The approach was originally implemented due to large discrepancies in weekly classroom attendance, but I eventually realized that it compromised progressive learning for the regularly attending students. Some of the ideas, movie clips, and activities in the lessons on this page have been re-purposed in other rfour.org youth Sunday school lessons where I use a thematic approach.

Note that you will need to purchase videos for the Nooma lessons. Search Amazon.com for the discs or, to download, click HERE (goes to an off-site page [www.flannel.org] and is not affiliated with rfour.org in any way).
